Sweating is your body’s natural activity. It helps the body to cool down after engaging in different types of activities—starting from early morning exercise to sleeping. When the muscles of your body starts to heat up, over two million underlying sweat glands in your skin will start to produce fluid. This activity of your body is called thermoregulation. The sweat that your body releases has a cooling effect to maintain your required body temperature. It’s one way to keep your body in good condition.
In some cases, there are people who sweat too much. This condition is sometimes not normal for the body. Excessive sweating is mainly due to exercise, doing sports, nervousness, and extreme emotions. These are all fine and any other reasons can be dangerous. There are diseases like thyroid problem, lungs disease, diabetes, and heart problems that can cause the body to have excessive sweating. There is also a possibility of you having hyperhidrosis, a condition where the mechanism of your body to sweat is overactive. This abnormality of the body can actually affect the quality of your living.
Excessive sweating does not only affect the quality of your appearance, but also the closeness you can have with your friends and love ones. Too much sweating can ruin your looks and make you smell bad.
Here are some ways on how to deal with excessive sweating:
You can use antiperspirant deodorant. Antiperspirant can help you from extreme sweating. To be more effective, it is advisable to apply it before going to sleep. Avoid chemical-laden beverages and food. Studies show that the caffeine content of coffee affects the central nervous system that results to excessive sweating. Drinking hot coffee or chocolate also brings the body temperature to a high level. Foods with spicy flavor can also increase the body temperature. And high level of body temperature will cause you to sweat excessively. So it’s better to avoid these types of drinks and food for regular basis.
If preventing excessive sweat doesn’t work, you can just hide your sweat marks to still look fresh. Use lighter color of clothes to lessen the visibility of the sweat. It is also better if you use breathable cotton shirts to keep you from increasing your body’s temperature.
How to Eliminate Sweat Stains
Another serious trouble caused by sweating is the sweat stain. While you can always use bleach, this may not be the best option as it contains harmful chemicals that compromises your health. The best way is to use apple cider vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. Just let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinse.
